0.9.0 October 29, 2026

The Broken style is gone, so Bloom has five styles: 1,260 icons × 5 = 6,300 files. dist/broken/ and dist/motion/broken/ no longer exist; take another style instead (linear is the default). icons.json, bloom-icons get --style and the MCP tool list the five styles. The files of the other styles did not change for this.
Every star is now a regular five-point star with five tips of 50° (27 icons), and soccer-ball’s pentagon is regular.
Sharp convex tips of closed shapes are rounded with a 0.75 arc (41 icons), the 16 speech bubbles share one rounded tail, and the bells and the flag are drawn on curves.
An icon that is a single object, such as a heart or a speech bubble, is no longer cut in two for duotone: its line takes the main tone and its inside the second (43 icons). icons.json gains surfaceOpacity.
18 icons that sat off centre now sit in the middle.
The icon browser lists the icons that move on hover, and reduced motion keeps fades while dropping movement.

npx -y bloom-icons -- --version, the form the README gives, now prints the version: npx passes the -- on, and the command used to answer “Unknown command --version”.
Searching or switching Motion before a style had finished loading left every tile in the icon browser empty on a slow connection. The browser now draws once the style is in, with the search as it is by then.
No drawing changed: the SVG files are the same as in 0.8.0, byte for byte.

23 new icons for concepts the set was missing, from user-sparkles (an AI agent) and webhook to train, ship and bicycle: 1,260 icons × 6 styles = 7,560 files. The 7,422 files that were already there are the same, byte for byte.
39 icons also come in a version that moves while the button or link around it is hovered: dist/motion/<style>/<name>.svg, and dist/motion.css for pages that refuse inline styles. It moves only for a mouse or trackpad and stays still on touch screens, keyboard focus and reduced motion. See Hover motion.
bloom-icons get <name> --motion prints the moving version, find marks the icons that move, and the MCP tool get_icon takes motion.
The icon browser copies an icon’s SVG in one click; shift-click opens its card. A Motion button turns the movement on and off.
A new home page, with headings set in Bricolage Grotesque.

No drawing changed: the 7,422 files are the same as in 0.6.0, byte for byte.
icons.json lists every renamed or removed name in renames, and its icons are now in name order, so house comes before house-angular.
The bloom-icons command finds names by use word, old name or a name guessed from another set, prints files byte for byte, and serves both to AI tools over MCP. See AI agents and the CLI.
This website, with llms.txt, a lookup file for every search word and every SVG at a plain address. The detail card now loads the one icon it shows, a few kilobytes instead of five whole styles.

Bookmark redrawn: a deep 45° notch and no inner line. The shallow notch looked like a phone at 14 to 15px. The bookmark variants and circle-bookmark share the new outline.
Icons that looked like others were cleaned up. remote was redrawn so it no longer resembles speaker-box. earth, circle-voicemail and square-voicemail were removed; see renamed icons. cloud-drive now has one long groove instead of a short line and a dot.
After the blur test, details were taken out of skirt and wastebasket so they no longer clump at 16px.
1,237 icons × 6 styles = 7,422 files.
Faster checks with the same output, byte for byte: the test suite builds the set once instead of three times (about 183 to 56 seconds).

The last category, Medicine: 19 new concepts, from pill to heart-pulse.
All 1,451 of Solar’s concepts covered and all 37 categories done. Four trademarks are not drawn.
The benzene ring is drawn with alternating double bonds, so it reads apart from a hex nut.

828 new concepts, 1,221 in all, and 24 more categories finished.
Fixed: at some positions Skia silently lost the outline of a sharply turning rounded corner, and Bold came out empty. The build now catches it and recomputes.
The drawing kit gained frames for clouds, shields, locks, clocks, calendars, houses, speech bubbles, trays, envelopes and paper.

Growing along Solar’s categories: 330 new concepts, 393 in all, and the first 12 categories finished.
The filled styles are refit with cubic curves, which made Outline about 5 times smaller.
square-arrow-up-right was renamed square-arrow-out-up-right; see renamed icons.
A check script for icons still being drawn, which leaves dist/ alone.

51 new concepts, 63 in all.
Duotone for icons made of a single line or shape, in two tones as Solar does.
Simple symbols such as X, plus, minus and chevrons drawn to Bloom’s own proportions, so their coordinates differ from other sets.
